I feel old

I feel really old.

While talking to my folks the other day, they informed me that my nephew Josh has a girlfriend.

Ok, yes, I admit he’s 15 years old … and that’s about the time for a young man to have a girlfriend (not that I did, but I was a pretty late bloomer).

None the less … I remember when he was a baby.

I’ll get over it … eventually 🙂

Foosball Performance

I think there is a direct correlation between the type of work I am doing and my performance in foosball.

Al, a co-worker, and I play a (almost) daily game of foosball (MKS has a nice table in the lunchroom). We’re fairly well matched … he wins sometimes, I win sometimes.

I’ve observed that, when I’m working on technical tasks, my foosball performance is quite good. When I’m working on non-technical tasks (user designs, administrative stuff, etc) my foosball performance is quite poor.

Today I switched from working on user & concept designs to technical designs … and I swept Al in the game. For the past few weeks I’ve been getting my clock cleaned. Today was a turnaround.

Of course, being a gearhead, I enjoy technical work far more than design work.
